The Man

-----I was born in Germany, where my father was stationed at an Air Force Base. I grew up watching movies in a number of homes, including locations in Idaho, Wyoming, Hawaii, Guam, and Japan. I later started reviewing movies in my teens, and then built this site to facilitate my continuing reviews.
-----Andrew's reviews have been published in the Laramie Boomerang, in TFAW.com's Weekly Newsletter, in the Laramie Movie Scope, and of course, on GreenHatReviews.com.

The Theory

-----I love most movies. I think a lot of critics lose site of the movie magic that thrilled them as children and become too critical. I love movies that take you to a different place, and wow you in all aspects of their storytelling. That being said, I definitely have a bias for superhero blockbusters and summer megahits. Those are the movies that take my imagination to new heights, and thrill me over and over again with each viewing. However, I like to look for the good things in all movies, and can always appreciate the acclaimed classics that can be radically far from summertime popcorn flicks. It is through a respect of the medium that I have come to build this site in honor of films like 'Spider-Man' and 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' alike. I wouldn't be reviewing movies if I didn't love them, and that's the policy this site was built on.

The Site

-----Often you'll see me put movies into three sections, "Worth Seeing", "Worth Renting", and "Worth Nothing." Very few films are worth nothing, and I only use the term to seperate the films that rise above mediocrity from the ones I didn't like, and don't think many other people will like either. I will give them a rating out of five stars, 'five' being exceptional, 'four' being good, 'three' being not bad, 'two' being disappointing, and 'one' being dreadful. As far a sequels go, it is important to know that I am very forgiving of mediocre and even poor installments. If I love the original film and its characters, it is likely that despite flaws and a bad story, I will enjoy their on-screen chemistry enough to at least give it 'three stars' or a 'Worth Renting' rating. However, if this is the case I will make sure to state so in my review. Whether you love or hate my opinions, know that they're just that, my opinion. I will always try to balance how much I liked a film with its' technical aspect and will take notice when I'm not the intended demographic. And of course, I'll always have the publics entertainment at mind, trying my very best to make your movie going experience something to remember. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to let me know by filling out the form on my 'Feedback' page.

-----www.greenhatreviews.com is where Andrew Scott shares his passion for the movies by writing reviews that could spare us or enlighten us about films in and out of theaters.

-----This is not your everyday mediocre blog site; it’s a place overflowing with valuable professional reviews rated on a five star scale. Five stars being exceptional and a rating of one, being dreadful.

-----Scott uses a very unique style to his reviews capturing both his take on the film, a quick synopsis of the plot, a short take on the actors, along with the many technical aspects covering the cinematography, script, and the music.

-----Green Hat Reviews divvies up the movies into three sections, Worth Seeing, Worth Renting, and Worth Nothing. Scott explains, “Very few films are worth nothing, and I only use the term to separate the films that rise above mediocrity from the ones I didn’t like.”

-----The site consists of 27 reviews and counting, with an update on nearly a daily basis. Another unique aspect of the site is Scotts top ten list, displaying the movies that can potentially go down in history as some of the greatest of their time. “I love the movies and the movies love me.” Scott explained for his motive on creating the site.

-----Recently some of Scott’s remarkable reviews were and still are currently posted on Laramie’s own movie review site, The Laramie Movie Scope, operated by Robert Roten and Patrick Ivers.

-----Ultimately Scott wants to become a member of The Online Film Critics Society; A professional association for film journalists, scholars and historians who publish their reviews primarily in the online media. As for Scott’s website, Green Hat Reviews, the future looks promising and may one day be the one stop movie review site for all film lovers alike.
