The Snubbed

-----Acting as one of the biggest crimes ever commited by our dear Academy, 'The Dark Knight,' second highest grossing film of all time behind only one film, Best Picture Winner 'The Titanic,' did not recieve even a Best Picture Nomination. Think this is a crime? Join the club, all fifty million of us. It was replaced by 'The Reader.' Haven't heard about it? Join the club, all three billion, nine hundred and ninety nine million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand of us. Not even the head honcho critics gave this one much attention.

-----In other news, Jared Harris, the very best part of 'Benjamin Button' did not receive a Best Supporting Actor Nomination. Everything else about the overrated film was nominated. And this if from the standpoint of someone who liked 'BB' but definitely didn't love it.

-----In other news, Mickey Rourke naturally received his Nomination for Best Actor from the Academy, but low and behold, the man telling him what to do, Director Aron Arnofsky was left out of the bid for Best Director.

-----In other news, does it seem odd that every movie made about homosexual men gets acclaim from the Academy? Not to upset anyone, but think about it. 'Philadelphia,' 'Brokeback Mountain,' and now 'Milk.' Hmm.
